Comme Des Garçons SHIRT launch a collaboration with Lacoste
What happens if the over-the-top minimalism characteristic of Comme Des Garçons is combined with the sporty, preppy-toned attitude of Lacoste? What happens is that the strong identities of the two brands let go a little bit to find a perfect harmony-unexpected-which can only be pleasing.
LACOSTE AND COMME DES GARÇONS SHIRT TEAM UP FOR A NEW COLAB
For the FW23 season, Lacoste and Comme Des Garçons SHIRT have joined together in a collection in which Lacoste's heritage is revisited by Comme Des Garçons' aesthetic canons, particularly the SHIRT line, which has always offered conceptual garments with asymmetries, major color blocking. The goal of Comme Des Garçons' SHIRT line is in fact, precisely to subvert the well-known, canonical silhouettes always starting from shirting.
In the collection, the iconic Lacoste crocodile is reinterpreted by taking on forms never seen before. We see it decomposed, inlaid, embroidered, in giant form on sweatshirts and knitwear and repeated several times on shirts and t-shirts until it even becomes an all-over pattern. All accompanied by colors, cuts, patchworks typically Comme Des Garçons; the Lacoste world thus remains true to itself while letting itself go a little bit to the experimentalism typical of the Japanese brand-pillar.
